Avocado oil is one of precious cosmetic oils. It is obtained in the process of cold pressing pulp of ripe avocado fruits, though many people mistakenly believe it to be from the kernels. The oil has quite runny and even texture. Quite characteristic is its colour, typical for these fruits. Avocado oil has deep green colour. However, it does not have any impact on hair during hair oiling.
Seven vitamins oil
It is said that avocado oil is seven vitamins oil. To be true, oil indeed consists of plenty vitamins, but every source feeds us with different information on the exact number. For sure in avocado oil can be found vitamin B complex (thiamin, riboflavin, PP, pantothenic acid, pyridoxine and folic acid, biotin). Oil from pulp of avocado contains also vitamins E, C, D, F and K. Therefore, it depends how you choose to see it. There are six vitamins (if taking B as a group) or 12 (if taking each vitamin in B group individually). However, this has no greater meaning. Avocado oil still contains great amount of them.
Beside vitamins, in natural avocado oil are also minerals (magnesium, manganese, iron, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, zinc), as well as lecithin, squalene and phytosterols. It all makes avocado oil the best way to nourish and strengthen hair. Nonetheless, what is the most valuable to hair?
Unsaturated fatty acids
Medium porosity hair love monounsaturated fatty acids, which have larger particles. Thanks to it, these can fit in the structure of hair with raised porosity. Damaged strands have raised cuticles, which are sealed by the avocado oil. At the same time hair are better protected and oil can easily penetrate inner hair structures.
What are the acids in avocado oil? You may want to say - the best. Certainly, the oil has acids that hold the most favourable impact on medium porosity hair. Avocado oil consists of even 55-75% of oleic acid, 10-25% of linoleic acid and about 3% of linolenic acid. Beside these unsaturated fatty acids, which are perfect for damaged hair, avocado oil consists of also 10% of saturated palmitic acid and trace amounts of stearic acid.
